Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) - School District
103
This not-for-profit service organization serves the schools
of District 103: Laura B. Sprague, Half Day School and Daniel
Wright Junior High School. The purpose of the PTO is educational:
to bring the community and schools closer, and to stimulate interest
in and encourage support for our schools.
Membership is open to any who subscribe to the by-laws and pay
the annual family dues.
The PTO Board of Directors consists of parent volunteers who
meet with the superintendent and school principals on the fourth
Tuesday of each month except July and December. The standing
committees include: Ways and Means, Health and Safety, Publicity,
Cultural Arts, Hospitality, Parent Networking,
Volunteer Council, Membership, and Special Projects.
The PTO has been involved with or sponsored numerous projects
and exhibits. The Volunteer Council works within the PTO to recruit
volunteers who share their time and talents in the following
programs: Library, Learning Center, Gym and Clerical Aides, Art,
Music, and Social Studies Appreciation, Project Success, S.M.A.R.T.O.,
Room Mothers, Special Programs, Volunteer Nurses, and Daniel
Wright Volunteers.
