Illinois Recycling Grants Available
The Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) is currently
accepting applications for Illinois Recycling Matching Grants.
This funding opportunity is open to eligible local businesses and
not-for-profit organizations.
Illinois Recycling Grants Program (IRGP)
This program provides matching grants
to assist local governments and businesses fund traditional recycling
(fiber, plastic, metal and glass) projects. A priority goal of
the program is to reduce the amount of recyclable commodities
being disposed of in Illinois landfills. Applications are
due on March
16, 2011. Applications and program details are available at www.illinoisrecycles.com. Food Scrap Composting Revitalization & Advancement Program
(F-SCRAP)
This program will fund projects to advance Illinois' food scrap
composting infrastructure. Food scraps from households, grocery
stores,
farmer's markets, restaurants, college facilities, and food packaging
operations
account for 12 percent of all municipal solid waste landfilled
in Illinois. Applications are due April 15, 2011.
