Route 22 and Milwaukee Avenue Intersection Improvements
TRAFFIC PATTERN CHANGE
Currently scheduled for Wednesday, September 29, 2010
The contractor has completed the pavement work required as part
of the Stage 2 construction.
Additionally, they are very close to completing the construction
required as part of Stage 2A. The
contractor is now mobilizing to begin Stage 3 construction, which
includes tying the pavement sections
together in the middle of the paved areas, construction of medians,
and restoration work. Please pay close
attention to these changes, as it can take some time to become
accustomed to.
As part of this traffic switch, several area businesses will be affected. Below is a list of the affected businesses and how their access will be affected.
The commercial driveway access will be as follows:
McDonald's
BP Amoco Gas Station
Greenview Homes
Marathon Gas Station
As a reminder, reduced speed limits will still be in effect in this and all construction zones, whether or not workers are present. Drivers should continue to watch for changing traffic patterns and use caution, especially when workers are present. Police agencies have zero tolerance for drivers speeding in work zones. The minimum penalty for speeding in a work zone is $375. Posted signs advise motorists of a $10,000 fine and 14-year jail sentence for hitting a roadway worker.
While the Village has not received any official information regarding a completion date revision, based on the remaining work to be completed, our expectation is mid to late October at this point. We will notify you of any changes as soon as they are provided to us.
If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact Rob Horne at (847) 913-2366, or via email at rhorne@village.lincolnshire.il.us. As always, the Village will pass along information as it is provided to us.
