Deerfield Road to Close at the Des Plaines River Starting Tuesday, October 19th
The Lake County Division of Transportation will close Deerfield Road in Riverwoods, to through traffic from IL Rte 21/U.S. Rte 45, Milwaukee Avenue to Saunders Road, beginning at 7 a.m., October 19, for four days. Deerfield Road is scheduled to reopen to through traffic in the evening of October 22.
The closure is necessary to install the bicycle/pedestrian bridge over the Des Plaines River, as part of the construction of a new bicycle/pedestrian path south of Deerfield Road from the Des Plaines River Trail to Thornmeadow Road.
Local traffic will be allowed on Deerfield Road from Milwaukee Avenue to the Deerfield Road Bridge and from the bridge east to Saunders Road. The Deerfield Road Bridge will be closed to all traffic for the installation of the bicycle/pedestrian bridge.
