In an effort to keep residents better informed, below is a short
list of some regulations of which you should be aware:

Detached storage structures (sheds) are now permitted within
the Village under specific parameters, but do require a Building
Permit.

Children's play structures/equipment are regulated by the
Village Code.

Satellite dish antennas five (5) feet in diameter or larger
are regulated by the Village Code. While dishes smaller than
five (5) feet in diameter are not regulated, but they require
a no-fee informational Building Permit.

Fences, screen walls, dog runs, tennis courts, irrigation
systems, and pools are also regulated by the Village Code,
and require a Building Permit.

Conservancy areas are protected by Village Ordinance and
must remain in their natural state, unless authorized by the
Village Forester.

Above ground pools are not permitted within the Village.

Refuse containers are not permitted to be stored in plain
view of a public way or adjacent property.

A Site-Work Permit is required when replacing a driveway
or sidewalk.

Lawns are required to be kept below six (6) inches in height
throughout the year. Additionally, all right-of-ways adjacent
to a property are required to be maintained by that property
owner, regardless of jurisdiction.

Vehicles are only permitted to be parked on a paved or previously
approved surface.

"For Sale" signs are not permitted to be displayed
in vehicles within the Village.

Storing lawn waste anywhere on your property (other than
in an approved container) is not permitted.

Sump pumps may not discharge into a Village right-of-way
between November 1st and April 1st.

Mailboxes constructed of masonry material are prohibited.

Same size window replacement, siding replacement, and fascia
and soffit work do not require a building permit.

Permanent structures are not permitted in any building setback.
- Open burning is only permitted for recreational purposes.
ie; grilling, manufactured exterior fireplaces, etc. The disposal
of yard waste by means of burning is strictly prohibited and
strictly enforced.
Although this is only a short list, it is a good policy to contact
Village Staff to determine whether any Village regulations need
to be met prior to investing in your project.
