In January 2010, the Village established
the Environmental Services Division. This Division is responsible
for working to improve the environmental well being of our community
through education and management of the Village's natural resources.
The Division evaluates alternatives which are cost-effective
and environmentally sound. The Division maintains, enhances, and
protects
trees on Village property, 128 acres of open space, 6 medians in
Route 22, and 29 subdivision entrances. The Division is responsible
for enforcement of the Tree Preservation and Landscape Code, which
regulates tree protection measures for new construction, subdivision
landscaping installation, and tree removal operations.
The significant goals and objectives for the Environmental Services
Division for 2010 include:
- Enforce the Tree Preservation Ordinance.

Award.
