Tree City USA and Growth Awards
Tree City USA and Growth Awards
The Village of Lincolnshire has been recognized as a Tree City USA for its sixteenth
consecutive year. To become a Tree City, a community must meet four standards:
it must have an active Forestry Division, a community tree ordinance, a comprehensive
forest management plan, and an Arbor Day observance.
Lincolnshire also received the Tree City Growth Award. This
is the fourteenth year in a row that the village has received
this distinction. The Growth Award recognizes a community's commitment
to improving the awareness and quality of municipal tree care
practices.
Both awards are provided by the National Arbor Day Foundation,
in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters.
