Real Estate Transfer Stamp
A Real Estate Transfer Stamp is required when it comes time to
sell your home. It is the buyer’s obligation by Lincolnshire
Ordinance. However, you as the seller, or seller’s attorney
are required to supply the Village with a copy of your PTAX 203
form. (The Illinois Real Estate Transfer Declaration) Forms are
available from your attorney or online at www.tax.illinois.gov.
A final water meter reading is required on the property 3 - 5
business day before the transaction is completed. Once the “closing
date” has been set, please contact the Water Department to
set up an appointment to read the meter.
Before the County will record the deed, the stamp must be affixed
to the deed. Usually, this is done at the closing and the stamp
is purchased prior to the closing. A transfer stamp may be purchased
at the Village Hall or, for your convenience at the law firm of:
Ancel, Glink, Diamond, Bush, DiCianni & Rolek, P.C.
