 History
of North Park
The Village purchased the 62.5 acre site in the late
1990's to meet the needs of Spring Lake Sports League, the volunteer
organization that handles competitive athletics for the children
in the Village and within the boundary School District 103. Twenty
five acres were developed into an active recreation area with
extensive playing fields. The remaining 37.5 acres were dedicated
Illinois Nature Preserve as an addition to Florsheim Nature Preserve.
Red Means Closed, Green Means Open
When approaching the park, notice the flag pole at the entrance. There is a
United States Flag and a small flag underneath. The flag underneath indicates
whether the fields are open or closed. A red flag means the fields are closed.
A green flag means the fields are open. To get an update on North Park playing
fields call the North Park Hotline at 847- 913-2375.
North Park Concessions
The Village has contracted with a concessionaire to provide concession services
