The Lincolnshire Police Department is
staffed with 24 sworn Police Officers, including the Chief of Police,
two Commanders, three Sergeants, and two Investigators. The Police
Department also employs one Community Service Officer to handle
non-patrol and service functions including traffic control and
animal control. The Police Department operates a 911 emergency
center, which is staffed by six full-time Telecommunicators. Staffing
for the Police Department also includes two clerical staff who
assist with administrative functions.
The Department is a member of the Northeast Illinois Regional
Crime Lab, Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group, Lake County
Major Crimes Task Force, Major Crash Assistance Team of Lake County,
and the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System through intergovernmental
agreements with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
A computer terminal links the Department with all other police and
sheriff departments worldwide.
Police personnel will provide surveillance service on request to
vacationing homeowners ("Housewatch") and will also conduct
home crime prevention inspections at no charge, upon request. Child
safety seats are available on a "no charge", "first
come, first serve" basis for those residents who have friends
or relatives with children coming into town for a vacation.
Function Provides core services which include uniformed patrol operations,
investigations, youth services, traffic accident investigation
and enforcement, telecommunications, bicycle patrol and supplementary
services which include disaster preparedness and response, planning
and research, housewatch program, participation with community
action
groups, crime prevention, drug abuse intervention, traffic pattern
analysis and recommendations, and Village licensing investigation
and enforcement. |
