Riverwoods Road and
Everett Road Intersection Improvement Project
August 5, 2010
The contractor has begun installing the required storm sewer improvements
throughout the project. As part of
these improvements, from time to time, lanes may be reduced to
one lane, so pay close attention for flaggers. Additionally there will be tree
removal occurring on this project. The trees being removed are
approved under
the contract and should not be within the Village limits. While
there will surely be traffic impacts, the traffic control measures
will be placed in a manner that allows for the optimum amount of
traffic flow. Please pay close
attention to the traffic control measures, as these traffic pattern
changes will take time to become accustom to.
The actual start date for construction was July
6, 2010, with a proposed completion date of November 5, 2010.
While the actual completion date has not been provided at
this time, it would be safe to assume it will be closer
to the end of November than the beginning. As always, the
Village will pass along information as it is provided
to us.
As a reminder, reduced speed limits will still be
in effect in this and all construction zones, whether or not
workers are present. Drivers should continue to watch for
changing traffic patterns and use caution, especially
when workers are present. Police agencies have zero tolerance
for drivers speeding in work zones. The minimum
penalty for speeding in a work zone is $375. Posted signs
advise motorists of a $10,000 fine and 14-year jail
sentence for hitting a roadway worker.
