2010 Street Rehabilitation Project
May 5, 2010
The following streets have been included in the Village's 2010
pavement rehabilitation program:
- Windsor Drive
- Wellington Court
- Queens Way
- Canterbury Drive
- Kent Court
- Whitby Circle
- Whitby Court
- Berwick Court
- Keswick Court
This construction project is funded by the State Motor Fuel Tax
and by local general funds. The Village awarded the contract to
Curran Contracting based on their lowest price proposal as submitted
at a public bid opening. The work will generally involve pavement
and curb full-depth patching, storm sewer, pavement grinding, and
asphalt resurfacing.
Work is scheduled to begin the week of May 3, 2010, weather permitting.
Work will be staged so that the street will be passable at all
times, although delays can be expected. While traveling through
these areas, please use caution. Also, if applicable, please try
to park your vehicles off the project streets as much as possible.
While we request that residents whose driveway access is interrupted
make arrangements to use a neighbor's driveway, the roadways will
inevitably have more cars parked in the roadway than normal. Additionally,
during this project, there will be large equipment and trucks traveling
on these streets. Please pay close attention to pedestrians, excavations,
equipment, and material stockpiles. With your patience and cooperation,
the project will proceed smoothly.
The project is scheduled for completion by mid-June, weather permitting.
If possible, please try to avoid using Windsor Drive unless it
is necessary. Traffic may be delayed during construction and the
reduced traffic will allow the contractor to complete the job more
quickly.
We will try to keep you updated as work progresses. If you have
any questions, please contact Rob Horne, Engineering Supervisor,
at 847.913.2366 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through
Friday. For problems that develop after hours, you may call the
Police non-emergency number at 847.883.9900 and they will contact
the proper personnel for follow-up. Thank you for your cooperation. |
