The Lincolnshire Village Board approved a new “Food and Beverage Tax” during the September 11, 2017 Village Board meeting which imposes a 1% tax on food and beverages prepared for immediate consumption and sold on or after November 1, 2017.

The information below is intended to assist local businesses in complying with Lincolnshire’s laws:

  • Food and Beverage Tax Registration Form: Please complete this form and remit to the Finance Director’s attention by October 13, 2017 or upon opening for business. There is no fee for registering as a Food and Beverage Taxpayer.
  • Food and Beverage Tax Return: Upon receipt of the Registration form, Finance will send out a personalized Tax Return Form to the Tax Preparer identified on the Registration. The taxes are due on or before the second 1st of the month following the month of sales. For example: November 2017 sales are due by January 1, 2018.

Payment can be made in person at the Village Hall or by mail (to Village of Lincolnshire, Attn: Finance Dept, One Olde Half Day Rd., Lincolnshire, IL 60069). Payments must be accompanied by the Food and Beverage Tax Return and copy of the filed IL St-1. As stated in the Village Code, a penalty of 5% for Late Filing and/or 5% for Late Payment will be assessed. A completed Food and Beverage Tax Return is provided as an example.
